The top 10
1. Southwest Florida
The closest thing Roblox has to GTA V's Los Santos. A genuinely impressive open map, hundreds of licensed-feeling vehicles, jobs, customisation, and an active roleplay community. If you only try one game from this list, make it this one.
2. Greenville
Less crime, more Forza Horizon. The driving model is the best on Roblox by a wide margin and the map gets bigger every quarter.
3. Emergency Response: Liberty County (ERLC)
Sit on the other side of the law. ERLC is a serious police/EMS roleplay game with realistic radio comms and procedure. Surprisingly addictive even if you only play casually.
4. Da Hood
Urban PvP sandbox. Not a great vibe for younger players, but mechanically the deepest melee-and-gun combat on Roblox. The map design is direct GTA: San Andreas homage.
5. The Streets
The original "fight in the city" Roblox game. Simpler than Da Hood, more chaotic, much faster to drop into.
6. Brookhaven RP
Not really a crime game, but you can steal cars, drive around freely, and play out whatever scenario you want with friends. Counts as honourable mention because it's where most kids first experience an "open world" on Roblox.
7. Mad City
Direct GTA homage with cops-and-robbers loop. Heists, vehicles, a small but functional open world.
8. Jailbreak
The granddaddy of Roblox cops-and-robbers. Almost a decade old and still updated. The vehicle handling shows its age but the core loop is still excellent.
9. Notoriety
A Roblox Payday 2. Less open-world, more heist-focused, but if the GTA appeal for you is the bank-job set pieces, this is the most refined heist game on the platform.
10. Vehicle Legends
Drag racing and free-roam in a small city. Best if you just want to drive fast cars without thinking about a story.
Things to know before you start
Most of these games have a level-locked vehicle ceiling — the first hour or two of any of them is spent in a starter car. That's normal; don't let it put you off. Southwest Florida and Greenville reward sticking with them past the first session more than the others.
